The Silicone Disc Purge System 120 is used for the purging of straight pipes between 3⁄4" and 12". A 6" pipe will usually be purged to the safe welding oxygen level of 0.1 % in under 3 minutes.

The basic spinal unit of the modular system can be assembled with different size silicone discs and thus can be used for several pipe diameters.

Silicone disc purge dams can be pushed and pulled through pipe lengths with minimum friction or resistance. The basic spinal unit is directly connected to the inert purge gas supply and the gas enters the purge volume through inlet holes. Oxygen can escape through exhaust holes in the silicone discs guaranteeing a rapid purge.

The silicone dams will form an air tight seal inside the pipe. Since the dams isolate a small volume inside the pipe, fabricators immediately begin to use less gas before it is safe to start welding and can demonstrate to their customers they are achieving a lower carbon footprint.
